Question: What are those baby beds that attach to the grown up bed?
(Posted by: scareforce on 2009-07-03 13:14:48)
I have looked around the baby sites, and I can& #039;t find them. I know they have them but I don& #039;t know anything about them. What is the term for them, a site that has them, or personal experience with them. I want to look at all of my options, I think I might use a bassinet for a bit and then crib or a co sleeper bed thing (I don& #039;t know what their called) I don& #039;t think I want the baby in the actually bed with us as it would be hard to get them to sleep in their own be when the time come, but I am thinking the baby beds that attach to the grown up beds might be worth looking into because I will be exclusively breastfeeding. How long can they stay in those beds too, weight/ age? Sorry I am researching for the future. Oh and how well would that work out if I have twins? If I have twins, should I put them in the same crib with a divider for a bit and then two cribs, or can a co sleeper bed thing on both sides work out well? hmm, now that I think about it two co sleepers on either side will make my bed look like a menstrual pad with wings...lol No I did not ask that question, I have seen it though, it was written by someone with a different name anyways, and I am 19. I am not having children yet, but I think it is best to know about these kinda things before I plan to have a family, we are going to wait a few years. I mean knowledge is power right? I rather know these things before the situation comes up leaving me clueless. Thanks for all the info. I guessed the name right. I can& #039;t believed I have missed those even on the target site. I wouldn& #039;t of imagine there would be soo many to choose from since I never seen one before. All of this helps, except for the guy accusing me of being someone else and chastised me. This now I know their limits and I will be able to make a wiser decision in the future! I found a site that shows you how to sidecar you crib and attach it to your bed, so if anyone else looks up old question and finds mine can use this as well... I am thinking I might just do what they did when the time comes... http:/ / www.freewebs.com/ sidecarcrib/ |

These go right beside the bed. They don 't 'attach ' (I wouldnt really use one if they did incase it collapsed) but they are made to be put right beside your bed. They 're called Arms Reach Co-Sleepers target.com/ Bedside-Sleepers-Baby-Furniture/ b?ie= UTF8 &node= 3247151 |

Lmao, a pad with wings! that 's hilarious. they are called co-sleepers. arm 's reach makes one, I 'm sure there are other brands out there. I got my arm 's reach co-sleeper at babies r us and it was nice for a while (I ended up just bringing my son in bed with me). I THINK that mine (the mini) holds up to 23 lbs I want to say. they have the mini and the full sized one, so the full sized one would hold more I 'd imagine. my son is 5 months old and would fit into it just fine length wise too and he 's 25 inches. I 'd probably invest in a bigger full sized one (the mini 's specify that they 're mini 's in the name) and then put them together in one in the beginning. I 've heard twins like sleeping together. they should fit no problem. maybe when they out grow that they 'd be ready for a crib? you can also attach your crib to the bed if you just take off the front panel. then move them into their own beds when they grow out of that. if they don 't prefer sleeping together, then you can just separate them but everything I 've read and seen says they like being together outside of the womb. I hope I helped! |

I have an arm 's reach co-sleeper that my son REFUSES to sleep in. Hates the thing. I almost think he has been reincarnated 5 times and all 5 times burned to death in one the way he acts when I put him in there now. lol My twins loved it, though. I 'm still glad I bought it. :-) It 's just being used as a storage bin at the moment and no longer attached to my bed. You 're right about having a baby in your bed! I 'm trying to come up with a game plan now to easily get out of this co-sleeping thing with no drama and crying. |
