Question: Best baby bottles for gas and spit up?
(Posted by: Ms. Meg on 2010-03-03 10:28:38)
My son doesn& #039;t really take well to the nipples on the drop in bottles .. I was curious of others opinions of bottles to use. I think it& #039;s the wide nipple he doesn& #039;t like .. He tries to suck but the milk spills right out of his mouth lol |

Playtex Ventair. I used these for my second daughter who had colic and they worked very well. I continued to use them when I had my third child. I highly recommend them. They dramatically reduce the amount of air the baby takes in so they produce less gas, and reduce or iliminated spit up. I would try them. Here is their website: playtexbaby.com/ Products/ Bottles/ VentAire.aspx These nipples are easy to latch onto as well. My son would not take many different types, including all the disposible nipples, but latched onto these easily. |

I was going to recommend the drop ins, but if he doesn 't like those try Dr. Browns. My son had colic and the drop ins worked the best for us, but Dr. Browns were also highly recommended. They worked well, I just didn 't like what a pain they were to clean. |

We JUST had this same problem.. we finally found medium flow latex nipples for dropins. She took to them immediately and LOVES them. I seriously tried every bottle, every nipple, everything. Its a brown nipple and feels more like my breast i guess. Try it, i swear it will work! |

I was going to say the drop in bottles also, I absolutely love those kind + so does my daughter, and I plan to use them with our other baby when she gets here. I agree with the person that wrote before me, Dr. Brown 's are pretty good bottles, FOR AWHILE, after so long they start leaking really bad, due to the tubes you put in them. I hear ventex? I think that 's what they are called, are good bottles also. Just curious; some babies don 't like the brown nipples, because they have a weird taste to them, and different texture, is that why your lil one doesn 't like them? Or just the way they are shaped? You can also find clear nipples, that are shaped a lil different, if that is the problem. |

Dr. Brown!!! Seriously they helped a lot, my first had colic for a month and my second had acid reflux and we tried a lot of bottles they worked the best you 'll notice the diffrence after a couple of feedings! Just pain in the butt to clean but it 's better than dealing with a fussy baby or smelling like spoiled milk! Good luck and happy parenting! :) |

Dr. Brown! I used all the other bottles and finally the Dr Brown bottles did the trick. Save yourself the time and money and just start there. I thought I was saving money by trying some less expensive bottles, and all I did was waste time and money cause in the end the Dr Brown bottles are the only ones that worked. I thought my little one had colic, but he really just had bad gas. |
