Question: Which is better for baby bottle at night toddler formula or whole milk or is 1% milk better for bedtiem bottle?

My 17 month old daughter will not fall asleep without a bottle, I know its not a good thing but she will not settle, any & #039;sleep training& #039; does not work as she or just reverts back to being up 2 - 6 or so times up at night. so right now she gets toddler formula during the day and diluted 1/ 2 formula and 1/ 2 water at night, is formula (watered down) or milk worse on teeth in a bottle at night. i know 1% milk is not good for toddlers but she is getting enough, or more than enough toddler formula during the day or Homoginized milk during the day. 1% milk will only be for bed. |

They are all pretty bad if you are talking about her teeth being healthy. I would guess the toddler formula would be the worse, and I don 't think there is any difference between the two milks in regards to her teeth. Have you tried just giving her plain water? If she won 't take that at first, then I would water down the milk and keep upping the water percentage every few days. Basically ween her from needing milk at bedtime and get her use to just needing the water. You are going to have to get rid of the bottle at some point, think of the move to just water as being the first step. It may really suck for a bit, but it will be better than starting from scratch when she is older! = ) |

They are all equally bad! train your child to fall asleep with water (gradually diluting her formula) or a pacifier and maybe give her more solid food before bedtime so that she won 't get hungry. Any liquid containing sugar - milk, juice, formula - rots the teeth and may even lead to infection of the brain if left untreated. Look at these sites and px and you will do your best to discontinue sugar in bottle. ada.org/ 3034.aspx ada.org/ 3383.aspx |

Give her plain water. She 's 17 months old and running the show. After a few nights of plain water, just nix the bottle completely. It may take a few nights for her to get used to it, but she will and she will do just fine. |

Be the parent and do away with the bedtime bottle, unless you are brushing her teeth after it. She 's going to have to give it up at some point. It may make for a few rotten nights, but she WILL adjust. |
