Can you put a newborn baby in an upright baby carrier?

Question: Can you put a newborn baby in an upright baby carrier?

The kind of carrier where they cant lay on there side, they can only be on your chest facing you or away from you, can you put a newborn in it? Im guessing you cant because there necks aren& #039;t strong enough to be jostled or bounced while you move around. Do you know? Have you done this? thanks! its cuz i don& #039;t have a sling and cant shell out the money. BTW I have little neck pillows or i could put a small blanket to support his head, do you think that would be enough? thanks for reading!

You can put a newborn in an upright carrier, but facing IN, not out. Babies love to snuggle up against mom 's chest. I have a bad back, so I can 't use a sling. But I have the newborn insert for my Ergo carrier and plan to use it from the beginning.

Yes- they have supports built in for their wobbly heads (or any models made for newborns will). A blanket support would help, too.

I did. With him facing you. The one I bought was nice. As long as I tightened the straps and didnt bend at the waist then he was fine. He would just turn his head to the side and sleep.

Thats what i used with my son when he was younger....I had to use blankets rolled up to help support his neck and head. This does work...as long as your keeping an eye on your baby then this should be just fine....Good Luck!!!
