Did i read somewhere that the mumbo baby chair was recalled?

Question: Did i read somewhere that the mumbo baby chair was recalled?

I& #039;m thinking of getting one for my 5 month old. Are they safe? Any concerns other parents have?

I htought all thoes types of chairs were recalled. we 've never used one. and my 6 month old has been sitting unsupported since he was 5 1/ 2 months. just do lots of tummy time to help strengthen thoes muscles.

Do u mean bumbo chair?

Bumbo chairs were recalled, but only to add a safety warning to the box. Apparently parents were leaving their children in them unattended (sometimes on high surfaces) and children were tipping out of them. They are safe when used properly (on the floor while mom is watching).

Bumbo Seats? Yea they were... But I really only saw a paper that said they to take caution while using them.. as baby can push back on it and make it fall backward.. it said never to leave baby on a table or other high surface while in the chiar... always keep it on the ground . try the bumbo website. im sure if there were a recall it 'd be on there or try bebe pods... theyre basicly the same thing... but the come with a tray and a bunch of other cool stuff. and Ive never heard anything wrong about it.

If you mean a bumbo chair, im not sure. i used a bumbo for my daughter and never experienced any problems with it. i used it a few weeks then she was able to sit up unaided

The Bumbo chairs have not been recalled. They just now have a warning on them to not leave a child unattended and not to use on counters and tables only on the floor supervised.

Elie 04 answered the question beautifully. I was hesitant to get one too, but my three month old absolutely loves it! It is nice for him to have somewhere safe to be as long as I 'm watching him of course on the floor where he doesn 't have to be laying down.

The Bumbo chairs were only recalled because people were leaving their babies unattended in them on top of counters and stuff. There is no flaw with the actual chairs, they just consist of really hard foam. They were recalled because of improper usage. I used one with my daughter and it was an absolute godsend. I took it to restaurants and set her in it in the middle of the table and she loved it. When I took a bath, I put her in the Bumbo in the bathroom floor, and I could set her in it on the kitchen counter and do the dishes. BUT- I never left her unattended, and I remember when she got to the age where she could start really moving around in it, and I realized it would be no time before she was crawling out of it. Then, I could see how it could be really dangerous. So, I put it up and got a highchair. But, it was the most useful thing we had when she was in the right age range.

Yep, parents were putting these chairs on high surfaces (countertops, kitchen tables) and there were incidences of the kids falling off them (duh). The recall is basically for people who weren 't using the chair properly in the first place - then think they can go sue the manufacturer for their own stupidity. We bought one a few months ago and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Yes, because they can fall, and tip from high surfaces. Stay aware at totalrecallinfo.com Take care.
