Baby Cloths

Question: Is its okay to was baby cloths with normal laundry detergent?

They have special laundry detergent for babies at your local wal-mart. I would use it if I were you. I wouldn 't want to put my germy clothes in with my baby 's clothes.

Yes it is ok, unless your baby suffers from very sensitive skin then use a mild baby detergent.

I just bought a bottle of baby detergent and used it until it ran out. After that I used regular detergent, and my baby has not had any problems. I just wanted to wash them in baby detergent the first few times because their skin is so sensitive and has never touched clothes before, but honestly, it probably doesn 't make much of a difference. (I do still wash his clothes separately from ours though. Mostly because they 're so little and his socks and things would get stuck in our clothes)

I didn 't wash my son 's in normal laundry detergent at first. Before he was born I did wash everything up but used Dreft(we got a few bottles from a relative). You 'll probably want to use a dye free, fragrance free, detergent at first because newborns ' skin can be sensitive. From there wash a bib or blanket he/ she will be using to see if any skin allergies come up. Our baby is 4 months old now and I 've been mixing his clothing in with ours for the past couple of months. ETA: You do NOT have to use Dreft or any "Baby detergent " Just look for one that 's free of anything. I believe All makes one.

You really are supposed to use dreft or baby detergent because sometimes babies are sensitive to the harsher soaps and it could cause a rash and also the baby detergent helps retain the fire retardency

We always have and baby is just fine. If you have a sensitivity issue, which some kids do, my pediatrician recommended the "Free " versions of our regular detergents. The ones that have no dye, or perfumes...he said that those are even more gentle than the super expensive "baby " ones.

You can as long as you do only baby stuff in that load. Otherwise use a baby detergent or All Free and Clear.

No you should use Ivory snow or specific baby laundry detergent. Regular detergent uses harsh perfumes and is not good for baby 's skin or health.

I use free and clear laundry detergent for my baby 's clothes, and I do wash his separately from mine because that is always what I have been taught. I was actually thinking about this the other day, though, because I hold my baby everyday and take care of him and he is up against my clothes all the time that I wash in regular detergent. So, I would think it would be okay, and I am actually going to start washing my sons clothes in regular detergent once I run out of the bottles of free and clear that I have. If I see that he is breaking out I will go back to free and clear.

It is recommending that you use soap that is perfume free so your baby doesn 't develop allergies. I use Tide Free. It is much cheaper than using special baby detergent (plus I can wash with the rest of the family laundry then instead of washing the baby clothes separately.

I used the hypo-allergenic detergent for my child for a long time. I also washed his clothes separately from anyone else in the families. I did not want to risk anything from our laundry getting into his clothes. I also did not want to use such a harsh detergent on his laundry since babies have such sensitive skin. You never know what will cause a baby to break out into a rash or hives. Never to careful on something so simple.
