Baby Cloths

Question: I have just had my first scan in 14 weeks should i start buying baby cloths ect ?

Yes...most people start after 12 weeks...but really when YOU think is the best time...congrats!

It 's completely up to you - it depends on whether you have the space to keep them there and if it 's financially better for you to buy now. My sister in law got most of her clothes early as there were lots of sales on and her theory was to get it all while she was still on full pay rather than maternity pay! I waited during my first pregnancy as we were moving house so it made sense to wait until we had the extra space. During this pregnancy, i 'v bought stuff in dribs and drabs as I see something that 's a good price or on sale. There 's no hurry, you 've a long way to go yet!

You 're past your first trimester, but you should still wait a little longer before you start buying baby clothes because the risk of miscarrying is still a little high. I wouldn 't go too crazy though, as much as you want to - it 's better to wait and find out what the baby 's sex is before you start going nuts. And you do get a LOT of baby clothes at your shower, so if you buy anything now, go for little gender-neutral outfits, or things that you 'll be able to use later - receiving blankets, grooming kits, etc.

People are going to buy you and give you so much clothing especially newborn size. Save you money you 'll need it. I would say wait till you find out if it 's a boy or girl (if your going to find out) and then buy a special outfit to bring him/ her home from the hospital. If you still think you should buy more at least wait till after your baby shower.

Hi congratulations and all the best, when I had my 12 weeks scan I went out and got a few bits not much as I didnt know what we were going to be having, which we found out at my 20 weeks scan, at first all we bought was white things mostly and a few with yellow on etc. and items that can be used for either a boy or a girl. and then when we found out what we were having thats when I went mad lol, We are having a boy. my mum said the other day that I have enought clothes to cloth about 3 babies lol, well it is my first, there all newborn and 0-3 months lol oooopppps.

You have plenty of time and you really don;t need that much when you do start buying. Wait until you are around 7-8 months.

I started buying stuff after my 12 week scan im 16weeks tomorrow and have bought unisex vests etc we buy stuff when its reduced etc, as we dont have a lot of money and find that buying a few bits each month is better than buying it all at once. We bought vests and mits and socks etc in white and when we find out the sex we will then buy coloured stuff. congrats n goodluck x
