Am i crazy for buying all baby cloths?

Question: Am i crazy for buying all baby cloths?

(Posted by: Jenny on 2009-08-09 13:40:31)

Ok so im 9 week tommrow, and i already went crazy and bought like 30 outfits for a girl and 30 out fits for a boy, and then i bought 20 for uni- sex. my fiance said that i shoulda waited till i found out wut the sex was. BUT i could just save for our nexted kids. we r planning on haveing kids 2 yrs apart. oh yea and i already bought towels, and bibs, and blankets, and pretty muchly everything.. but im givenig my sister my sons cribs cause he is going into a big boy bed. so i was wondering wut is the best cribs? money is no matter. Oh yea i was looking at that crib/ bed at walmart. but we where also looking at one from babys R us, and it had a changing table on it, and places to put extra blankets and wut not. my toddler is acauly getting a home made bed, its a present from my moms bf. i thought it was nice. Oh yea i know how much they grow, i got cloths all the way up till there 1 yrs old!!

Well, it is smarter to wait, but I have no room to talk because I have done the same thing with all four of my kids. Of course I always bought tons of girls clothes, certain that I was having a girl. Well, I got boy, then another boy, then another boy. With this baby I just assumed I was never going to have a girl and bought tons of boys clothes and I 'm having a GIRL! I 'm happy though. Your excited, so if you got the money then go ahead.

Slow down!! Pace yourself! You 'll do all your shopping in 2 days and then have about 7 months of pregnancy left drumming your fingers. You 've got plenty of clothes, they will grow out of them within a month or two anyway and leave all the tags on clothes, then once you 've found out the sex take back the clothes that arn 't for that sex of baby even if money is no issue, buying clothes that the baby can 't wear is just wasting money. Limit yourself to buying 1 or 2 things at a time, and if it 's clothing until you know the sex keep it unisex, and buy a variety of sizes of clothes so the baby is all set up to about a year. After you 've got everything you need, buy practical stuff like diapers and baby wipes, things a mum can never have too many of. Regarding cribs, seeing as you say money is no issue here are some that are v cute for boys and girls. One that converts into a toddler bed. That way when they start climbing out (or trying to) you can take off one side and put up the little rails. The familiarity of the crib, but the safety of a bed. Then when the baby is older, they can help pick out a big boy/ girl bed try nordstorm or macys

Oh my goodness. I 'm due in 6 weeks and I only just bought the first baby stuff (two little onesies/ suits)! I guess I 'd better catch up :) LOL Shnnon 's right about the convertible bed. They have good ones at Amazon.com which is where I 'm having my shower registry. Delivery is free and there 's a HUGE choice. And if you don 't like the stuff on their site, you can link another site to Amazon. Makes it easy to plan.

Ya definatly way over board especially as your not even out of the MC phase yet. so anything can happen really, im sure your baby is fine but my SIL went baby shopping that early and ended up losing her baby. i defianlty would wait. especially since its alot of money being wasted when you dont know the sex yet.

Wow! There 's nothing wrong with buying baby stuff, but going clothes crazy usually isn 't a good idea. Did you buy all newborn clothing? Babies grow out of those very quickly and some are born too big to even fit into them! I would probably slow down a little, or at least focus on buying some gender neutral big ticket items like a play pen, baby bath, changing table, etc. I have only bought one piece of clothing for my baby. However, my family is going crazy! They have already bought me: gender neutral clothes, blankets, play pen, bassinet, bath, changing table, bouncy seat, winter coat, swaddler, and little socks! My sister is also going to be giving me a crib she doesn 't need. I don 't know what the best kind of cribs are, but for me its the free ones!

I agree you need to slow down, You are better off saving that money for your child 's future education, Its a totally waste of money to buy so much clothing for an infant , they SERIOUSLY GROW like WEEDS, Onsies are so cheap to buy because the baby can only wear it for like 2 weeks before it starts getting snug. Besides you are better off just registering for a baby shower now and let your friends and family buy gifts for the newborn if you get everything you could possibly need now, nobody will know what to gifts to get you when the baby does arrive, not to mention how BORED you are going to be in the end of your second trimester and all through your 3rd, save some shopping for when your on maternity leave and are getting the nesting bug.

You 're not crazy lol. You are going to need so much stuff. You are probably going to be one of the few pregnant ladies who are actually ready for your baby. You should get the one at babys r us. You are going to need a lot of places to put stuff too.

Alright-if money is no matter then you could always donate the unused stuff to a charity in your area. But after my first baby I found out that there is plenty to do and to shop for before the baby comes. Like figuring out what exact brand of diapers work for you, diaper bags stroller, car seat, wipes, bottles, landry detergent, nuks and all of that other stuff. Which can all be unisex in colors like green, yellow and such. And for the crib-check out Stokke SLEEPI mini. They are a bit pricey but gorgeous.

Ummm, I hope your children pay more attention in school than you did. Your English and grammar is atrocious. Yes, you are crazy to buy all this stuff at 9w when you don 't even know the gender. Why waste the money? It could be used for important stuff on your baby when he/ she is here. 38w 4d pregnant with a precious baby girl!
