I started buying them a few weeks after finding out I was pregnant, not many just a couple little things and then a bought a few more things after we found out the sex of the baby. We are not goign to buy anymore clothes though because I know we will be getting lots of clothes at the shower.

When you decide to have kids. Some people start picking up stuff for their babies long before they get pregnant. If you want to buy gender specific stuff I guess you should wait till you get your 20 week ultrasound and find out the gender.

I waited until I was out of my first trimester when the threat of miscarriage dropped dramatically. I was just so scared I guess to get my hopes up too high. But after my 3rd month I started buying supplies, clothes and all of that. I went on a shopping spree after 21 weeks when I found out the sex. Good luck to you and God bless.

We bought our son his first outfit the day after our 20 week ultrasound when we found out that we were having a boy.

It 's quite traditional to start shopping for baby clothes after you are 3 months pregnant, some believe it 's due to superstition like for instance because miscarriage is most likely to happen in the first 3 months, some don 't like to tell others they are pregnant or buy clothes incase they jinx the situation. I don 't go out of my way to shop, if i pass a shop i will look and if i see anything i will buy it, otherwise i don 't start shopping until i was around 5/ 6 months.

You can start buying baby items whenever you feel comfortable doing so.

Well I 'd start picking up unisex items like white onesies in all sizes...same with the socks. Also crib blankets and things of that nature, towels and washclothes. Themed clothes like pink flowers and blue boats I 'd wait to see if your able to find out the sex of the baby first! That way your not wasting your money! Good luck.

I started buying a few "gender neutral " items after 12 weeks (after miscarriage chances dropped significantly). Then I bought a few more things after I found out the gender of the baby. Most of the things I bought were closer to delivery, but I did buy a little here and there, especially when there was great sales going on. A word of advice...don 't buy too many of the 0-3 months. Your baby will grow out of those really quick, or not even get a chance to wear it.

After you get a confirmation that you 're pregnant! Honestly you can start as soon as you like! I know I did ;) I bought my son 's first sleeper when I found out I was pregnant! And that 's what he wore from the hospital home ;) I then waited till after the third month to splurge with clothes... Although yes, I waited till after I knew the sex of the baby to buy gender specific clothes.. before that, I was buying some neutral colour clothes, and stuff...

I STRONGLY recommend that you dont buy too many clothes at all. first off, you will most likely get PLENTY of clothes at your baby shower. 2nd, your baby will outgrow most of his/ her clothes. what you SHOULD buy are baby tees, kimonos, onesies, socks, mittens, and hats. those are the neccesities. and what the baby will almost always be in for the first few months. sure there are so many cute outfits you 'll love to buy especially after you find out what the sex of your unborn will be, but you dont know how Big/ Small your child will be. so dont stress buying clothes. get the necessities and but clothes after your babyboy/ girl arrives. :) hope this helps

For my first, I started buying them as soon as I found out. I was so excited. For my second, I got my first outfit when we were on our way home from the 20 week ultrasound after we found out it was a girl. I am now 26 weeks pregnant with twins, and had everything when I was 10 weeks. It is best to have everything ready before. It also makes it easier when you know the sex of the baby.
