Question: Where can i get inexpensive baby furniture?
(Posted by: ♥Expecting baby #1 3/30/10♥ on 2009-08-03 20:29:04)
So I& #039;m only 6 weeks pregnant, but I& #039;m already pricing out baby furniture so we can save accordingly. Does anyone know any websites/ stores that sell inexpensive baby furniture? I want a crib that will be safe for my baby but don& #039;t want to spend a fortune... example: no Pottery Barn Kids furniture! I& #039;d like to buy a matching set in a natural color with a convertible crib. Looking to spend anywhere from $150 - $250 per piece, or even less if possible. Thanks all! Craigslist is a great idea. I& #039;ve been looking and haven& #039;t found much I like yet, but I know I have a ton of time. Hopefully I& #039;ll find something there I like, but just incase I need a backup! |

OVERSTOCK.COM The same crib was $100 cheaper than the one at Target and the shipping was $2.95! Shipping for Target was $100! We love it...... |

Well, my local newspaper would let you put an ad in for free under the "Wanted " section. You 'd be amazed how many people have baby furniture they don 't want lying around. I got a real nice crib for a girl I know for free that way. |

Walmart and target but not sure if they have the same quality as more expensive furniture. you can also try craigslist a lot of people spend a lot of money on baby furniture that they don 't use or need anymore and most are in really good condition. |

Try looking on craigslist.org for furniture, most of it has been used before if you don 't mind that, but occasionally, you will find pieces that have never even been used for cheap. If that doesn 't suit you then try looking at Sears, Target, and Walmart. Hope this helps <3bex |

Ther was this really cool one on ebay that I wanted (and it met all the safety standards) and the price of the crib + postage was cheaper than any I saw in a shop. |

At walmart they have a crib for 109$ and matresses for as little as 39$ but make sure u pick matresses that are firm to prevent SIDS |

I suggest ebay. when my mom was pregnant, she found so many deals on baby stuff there. also, ask relatives and friends about any left over items they might have from pregnancy to see if they 'd be willing to give or sell them to you for less. |

You could go to thrift stores or from friends and family or ask if they know anybody with baby stuff they want to sell or giveaway but just make sure its "right " |

I have two kids and can tell you from experience you do not want to spend 100-150 per peice...at all ever. check paper ads, ebay, craigs list, walmart clearance, target, etc.. craigslist finds: swing in store price 100, i bought it used 30 bassinet store price 80 i bought it twenty. i suggest you pick one item that you really really want brand new and wont budge on..like crib or bassinet. and buy it. But other than that you are going to spend like 700 bucks on baby shit that you wont use past her first year old life n then regret it!. |

Since you have time keep looking into thrift stores when you ride by them. Check out garage sales on the weekends. |
