What is the government program that buys you baby furniture?

Question: What is the government program that buys you baby furniture?

(Posted by: sunshine and lollipops on 2010-08-12 16:25:05)

A accantience of mine was able to get baby furniture for her newborn from a government program. I have a four month old, poorer than dirt, my husband got laid off and she refuses to tell how she did it. If anyone out there knows what/ how she did it could really help my baby. She can& #039;t sleep in a bassinett forever.

Contact your local hospital, WIC office, etc and ask them. I know in some areas there are groups that give away free cribs or pack-n-plays in order to help with SIDS, so they are out there, but it 's not everywhere and like this one I found is only for single mothers.

She is probably on welfare. have you looked into craiglist list? you can get really cheap things there.

I agree with craigslist and the other site that was posted. Also, I would check with local churches. Sometimes they have things that were donated and they can help out. Times are so hard for so many right now...I wish you the best of luck and you are in our prayers. Oh...and IF all else fails and you have to spend some money, Kmart and Sears both have lay-a-way. I know money is tight, but that is also an option if you can wing it.

Also, check with local pro-life organizations. Many of them will provide low-income parents with material needs for their babies.

In my area, there is this organization called community pregnancy center. They give free furniture for babies. infact a friend of mine got her 3 n 1 brand new baby crib absolutely free from that organization. I think you should look on catholics charities in your area. This is the site....communitypregnancycenter.org/
