I& 039 m in the process of making a Star Wars themed diaper cake for my husband& 039 s friend who, with his wife, is expecting a baby boy.I& 039 m not sure of the exact due date however the shower is in late August and I believe she is due in early OctoberInside of the diaper cake I want to hide three fun onesies along with some other surprises however, I& 039 m not sure what sizes to get?or if I should get long sleeved or short sleeved?This is the mother& 039 s second child, and her first child was on the larger side.the onesies come in the following sizes Newborn up to 13 lb Small 14 18 lb Medium 19 26 lb Large 27 34 lb I know when I had my baby shower, I got an overwhelming amount of newborn and 0 3 month clothes, but nothing larger than 0 3 months.I was thinking maybe I should buy one small and two medium, or two medium and one small just looking for other mom& 039 s opinions on which size s to buy?Also, we live in Colorado, near the mountains.The weather here is very unpredictable yesterday it was 42 degrees, today it is 83 . October should be the start of winter, though there may still be some hot " summer" days in the dead of December.So should I get short sleeved or long sleeved? Or two of one and one of the other?I& 039 d appreciate other mom& 039 s opinionsand also, if you want to, I& 039 d aprecciate any tips on things you found to be helpful shower gifts? I& 039 m still looking for other things to give along with or inside the diaper cake.Thank you This is the 5th diaper cake I& 039 ve ever made,they& 039 ve always been very well recieved as giftsso I figure, if it aint broke, don& 039 t fix it, lol

Are you supposed to send out thank you cards for the gifts people brought to the hospital or to the house when they came to see the new baby? Would it be rude not to?

So I finally finished the Star Wars themed diaper cake for my husband& 039 s friend, and of course, the very day I finished that baby shower gift, I get an invitation for another friend& 039 s baby shower It really never ends, lol So I was thinking for this person I would start off with a baby bath tub, then I could line the tub with a towel. I& 039 d bulid a small diaper cake 2 3 tiers on the inside of tub. And I& 039 d like to decorate the inside of the tub and the diaper cake with bath toys and bath essential items soap, shampoo, lotion, washcloths, etc.. If anyone could supply links to uique baby bath items, fun bath toys, or really any suggestions for a bath time themed shower gift would be greatly appreciated.I was thinking of using something like this for the tub walmart.com catalog product.do?product id 2403317I& 039 d inflate the tub and then the small diaper cake would go where the baby in the picture is,from there I just need ideas for which bath time essential items to include, unique toys and things of that nature. What are some good baby gifts to give from a group?
My college track and field coach is inviting my event group over for dinner. His wife is pregnant with a girl due in January. There& 039 s ten of us throws squad that are invited to dinner. We want to get a few gifts for the baby from our group. They already have a two year old son so they have a lot of the baby essentials. He& 039 s a great coach, but we& 039 re a bunch of poor college students so we& 039 ve got a limited budget. Even though this isn& 039 t original, I& 039 m thinking of getting baby clothes and maybe a stuffed bear or something for the campus store. When we had a shower for their son, we also gave them a gift certificate to a nearby restaurant. A nice outing and helps make things easier at least for that day. So we& 039 d get them another gift certificate as well. How do these gifts sound? Do you have any suggestions? We& 039 re not doing any games or anything so it& 039 s not really a shower, just a dinner plus a few gifts. Thanks for your help
Would Dr Brown bottles be a good baby gift?
I just wanted to know if the Dr Brown bottles would make a good gift because I thought about getting my sister in law the set and a few other things to go with it to help make it easy for her to clean the bottles. Although I have never used them so I just wanted to see what the Moms and Dads that did use them think of them and if they were worth the money? Thank You..Please don& 039 t get wrong but I have heard her talk about them but like she told me she has two kids on the way so I thought I would find anyway to help her with getting a few gifts that she would like but because I never used them and she has not used them either I just wanted to make sure it would be worth the money.

Mine opened desitin, half a box of nursing pads, stained baby clothes with holes, half a bottle of shampoo and mismatched socks. It was all wrapped up beautifully. I don& 039 t think I hid by disapointment well, it was a close family member who happens to be wealthy

My go to gifts used to be baby books and gift certificates to a good photography shop with a nice picture frame, as everyone takes loads of pictures of their new baby. But now that photography has gone digital, is that still a good gift? What was your best baby gift? Thanks I walk their dogs. So it& 039 s a farily intimate relationship, as you have keys to their house and sometimes diagnose their dogs with health issues. This particular client went to Europe for a month and their dog had a rip roaring gum infection that I diagnosed and got treated while they were away. Pet Sitting is strange, because it& 039 s weirdly intimate in ways that some other service jobs are not. If that& 039 s any help here.Re Announcement I just got an email that they adopted their 3 week old bouncing boy yesterday I get the feeling they have been trying for a long time and it just all came together this week. No formal announcements have been sent out yet.

Baby gifts, do I need to buy gifts for....?
I just had a baby shower thrown by my mother in law. Since she was planning the shower, she invited a lot of her friends, including some friends that brought their adult daughters. I don& 039 t know these women very well but they are very close with my mother in law. Some of them I met for the first time at the shower. One of her friend& 039 s daughters is pregnant also and she bought a very nice gift off of my registry for the shower. Am I now obligated to buy her a baby gift when her baby arrives? I had not met her until the shower, I feel grateful that she bought a nice gift for us but at the same time I have a hard time being able to afford a baby gift for her as well. Does anyone know the " rules" for situations like this?Looking at the answers, I realize that I am mostly concerned that I wouldn& 039 t be able to reciprocate a gift of the same $ value, it sounds like it is still acceptable to send a gift even if it is not in the same price range?
