Question: What's a good baby gift for a toddler?
(Posted by: nkengaola on 2009-10-22 09:57:04)
A great friend of mine& #039;s son is having his first birthday party Saturday. My friend doesn& #039;t care if I bring a gift or not - he& #039;s the first grandchild on both sides, so he& #039;s getting a TON of stuff - but I feel I should. What could be a good gift for me to give him/ the parents? I& #039;m hoping to spend less than $30. |

I love giving classic books that mom and dad can read at bedtime for years to come. It 's easy, thoughtful, and you can write a nice inscription inside the cover that will be there forever. However, chances are this is also a very common gift so be sure to check with the mom about which books they have and which they 'd like. Also picking out these books is usually a nice trip down memory lane. Some possible options include: Good Night Moon Runaway Bunny Dr. Seuss Where the Wild Things Are The Giving Tree Velveteen Rabbit etc. |

A push/ ride on toy or a learning toy. go for something a little more advanced it will last him longer. my daughter loved her talking school bus(ride on toy). don 't buy stuffed animals. |

If this baby is anything like my son, he already has a crap load of toys. So I always ask for gifts that he could really use, like clothes, diapers etc. Maybe you could do a gift basket with all the necessities. If that 's not for you then just get a toy with lots of lights and sounds! The babe will happy with almost anything. |

Go with a truck or a toy like that. Just look at the age range on the side of the box. |

Rubber or cloth building blocks, toys that link together or go inside each other or cardboard books. Best toys my 18 month old loves the most |
