Question: Unique newborn baby gift idea to double as christmas present?

Hi everyone! My little sister had a baby girl last night (YAY I& #039;m an aunty again!!) and we are going over in 2 weeks to visit. I will be bringing all the christmas presents for family that live up where she does and wanted something for baby. Any idea& #039;s for a unique present I can give them? I& #039;m definitely going to get my new niece some clothes... but not sure what else to get. I asked my sister and she said they already have everything :) Thanks in advance!!

Make her a stuffed animal if you are creative or buy one amazon has nice ones called luvvies... If its a girl I suggest the unicorn

Some ideas, not totally unique but ;- a Rose bush to plant to grow with the daughter, a matching mom baby bracelet set, framed front page newspaper from the day she was born, if you do crafts try embroidering a birth announcement, personalised dummy clip, a lucky trinket box with maybe little amulets of a religious nature, four leaf clovers and a sixpence..

U can make a diaper cake. Roll up a bunch of diapers ans tie them in pretty pinl ribbon. Add some oneies, rattles and other toys to add to it. They 're very easy to make and its nice because it 's things every baby will need/ use and its unique and homemade! U can search for some pictures and ideas by typing, "baby diaper cakes. "

What about getting something that the baby can use later on, instead of just buying typical newborn clothes and rattles buy a cute tummy mat that your sis can put on floor for baby to help her start lifting her head. They have some really cute ones that are like a mini water mat and has fishes and stuff that move under the mat and the baby will use that longer than any newborn thing

How about making a baby time capsule for the new baby? This is something homemade and you can make it as small or big as you like: a time capsule is a box or container containing memorabilia, keepsakes, stories, photos etc. reflecting a certain date and time period, in that case the time when baby was born. The idea is that the container will be stored away and only be opened at 'baby 's ' 18th or 21st birthday (or any other birthday or occassion such as his or her wedding or the birth of his or her own child). When it is opened, it will be interesting to see how time and things have changed and probably the nostalgic keepsakes will provoke a few giggles, too.
