Baby Hat

Question: Ties on baby hats, good or bad?

I& #039;m learning to knit hats for newborns and babies, and have seen patterns that call for crocheted ties and ones that don& #039;t. I don& #039;t have any babies, and it& #039;s been a long time since I& #039;ve been around one, so I thought I& #039;d ask people who deal with babies and their clothes. Would you rather have a baby hat that you can tie under the chin, or one without dangling ties?

My daughter used to pull off her hats when she was really young, so I needed one with ties... Now, she loves to wear hats, and the ties just get in the way! A newborn probably doesn 't need them because they 're not going to be able to pull it off themselves... If you 're making them to sell (or even as gifts!), you could do some for older babies with ties and some without, as people will have different preferences.

People like both. Depends on the age of the baby and how likely they are to pull off a hat. If you have a puller or it 's windy, then ties are necessary. If not, then they aren 't.
