Question: Hi ladies! i need help with a list of baby items! what all do i need for a newborn and how much of each item?
(Posted by: lil lady on 2010-01-25 20:45:50)
Here& #039;s what I have so far. Numerous onesies~~both short sleeved and long sleeved since baby will be born during an unpredictable ND April! Sleepers (newborn through 3 months) Comfy pants and hoodies for outings Other clothing such as pants, jeans, bibs, hats, etc 22- 25 pairs of baby socks 7 or so hooded towels 20 baby washcloths 16 receiving blankets 2 light fleece blankets Crib, mattress and crib bedding, though only one sheet right now. How many do I need? Bassinet for travel Pack and play Swing Bouncer High chair Jumper Playtex nursers (I used those with both of my kids and love those! I need to buy the liners and drop ins though). I have one large box of newborn diapers, 2 mega packs of size 1 diapers, 4 tubs of wipes and one 5- pack of wipes refills. I do plan to breast- feed for as long as I can and I have a nursing cover and breast pump too. All I can think that I need to buy still is the bath- tub, baby meds, baby grooming kit with shampoo & amp; body wash. Is there anything you can think of that I& #039;m missing or that would come in useful even if not totally necessary? I& #039;m drawing a blank here! Like I said I already have 2 kids but haven& #039;t bought any baby stuff in 7 years so I have forgotten a lot! I& #039;m 27 weeks today with #3 and just making sure that I& #039;m not leaving anything until the last minute! Thanks for your help ladies! Please only answer if you have kids and experience! Oh yeah! I do have 2 travel systems too! I& #039;ve gotten a lot of things in multipacks so I can& #039;t really help how many I have~~plus babies go through items quickly if I remember right. Anyway, I have no plans to use pacifiers as they really didn& #039;t work for my other kids at all. Cpt. M~I should really clear this up. Some of the items wear given to me, so I have no control over how many I& #039;m given. I& #039;m sure I won& #039;t use all of my wash- cloths either so I might pass some of them on to others I know. The socks were bought in a lot of 22 new on ebay for an incredible deal~the same with the receiving blankets, and cost less than one pack at the stores so I couldn& #039;t pass them up! |

Onesies of any type are good espically if you have a spitter or drooler outfits you really dont need a whole lot at first especially jeans and such cause they arent comfortable for the kid and are hard for you to get on and off a few of my friends also went once a week or once every pay day to buy a pack of diapers in mulitple sizes to save on the expence later i dont think you need that many socks and this could be a no brainer but you dont have a car seat listed i also agree that you dont need that many wash clothes and blankets cause with that many people i am sure you do laundry enough you need three or four crib sheets to change about every 4-5 days or sooner if there is spit up and such |

HI WHAT I FOUND IS VERY USEFUL IS TO GET A BOPPY PILLOW FOR BREAST FEEDING IT IS VERY USEFUL! EVEN IF YOU DONT BREASTFEED IT JUST USEFUL BABY MITTENS! SO THEY DONT SCRATCH THEIR FACE DESTIN OR SOME TYPE OF DIAPER RASH CREAM BIBS? I DIDNT NEED TO USE THEM FOR A WHILE BUT WHEN MY BABY TURNED LIKE 3 MONTHS SHE STARTED DROOLINGGG IF YOUR GOING TO DO SHOPPING GO TO TARGET!! THEY HAVE THERE OWN BABY LINE CALLED UP & UP AND YOU CAN FIND ANYTHING FOR HALF THE PRICE LIKE THE PLAYTEX DROP IN TARGETS BRAND IS HALF THE PRICE GOOD LUCK = ] |

I have a 8 week old son, so here are some of the things that I have found that I have needed. You might want a baby monitor. It is good to have plenty washcloths, blankets and socks because they are so easy to lose. I cant keep up with my own socks let alone his. I probably have around 8 pair now. I wouldn 't go over the top with clothes because my son has already out grown his newborn clothes. You should probably get some burp cloths, we have 8 and it is nowhere near enough just because baby 's can be so unpredictable. You can never have enough baby wipes but you probably know that. We honestly have way to many bibs, we have 2 drawers full. A good investment would be a bunting bag for the car-seat, we could have used one. Be careful about the stroller you get they are having a bunch of Grayco strollers and travel systems being recalled due to the hinges cutting off the tips of children 's fingers. Make sure you have a nasal aspirator ours has been a life saver due to the allergens in the air lately. Good luck with number 3, hope you have fun. |

Wow you are really on top of things. some things will be in storage for a while. The only things coming to mind are stroller, car seat, baby monitor and diaper pail. My guess is you have this but a changing table? Maybe some gripe water and a mobile...for you nursing pads definitely, sanitary pads (yay) and painkillers. CONGRATULATIONS! |
