Congratulations! I 'm not very patient so I started buying stuff almost right away- probably at 5 weeks, but only at garage sales. I know its sort of silly but I am just so excited. I have only bought clothes though- I 'm going to wait to see what we get for the baby shower months down the road before we get the bigger stuff. |

I wouldn 't buy anything until you have your baby shower. Once that is over you can see what you didn 't get and start buying the rest of the stuff you need. Cloths are best if they are second hand (from family). If you don 't have any relatives that can help then keep the cloths that your son grows out of as they would be appreciated later on. |

Now! I would say, I would only but the necesary, because girl they will give you lots of stuff at the baby showers and stuff. If you work you will have a shower or gifts from them, and then from your in laws, and your side of the family. So I would buy first of all the crib, and car seat!!! Then go and buy clothes!!! I know you are excited, and who wouldn 't I am due Nov 16 2010. Don 't know yet what I will be having. I;ll find out Tuesday!!!!! |

I bought my daughter 's first outfit as soon as my fiance and I left the doctor 's office. Most people say that you shouldn 't buy newborn clothes because chances are A) baby will outgrow it before they get to wear it and B) they grow so fast anyway, you 're better off buying 3-6 months and up. Congrats and Good Luck!!! |

Anytime... The day that I found out the sex of the baby, I went and bought the "coming home " outfit and when I go shopping I always pick up some little something for her whether it be diapers, clothes, toys, etc... |

I would wait until after your baby shower to buy most of the things you will need. That way you don 't get doubles. Although you register people don 't always buy what 's on your registry. As for baby clothes. I would buy some newborn things, but try to buy more clothes for later. We bought a few newborn outfits we loved, and then bought most of the clothes in the 0-3 month size. As for when, you could start to buy some of the small things and a few clothes now. Make sure though when you buy them you think about how old he will be when he is wearing it. I bought far too many pants for my little one in 0-3 month size, and he will bee 3 months in August, and probably not wearing pants lol. Good luck and congrats! |

Hey my twin girls are due november 7th lol anyways, i 've bought a couple of things like clothes but i agree with john r. that said wait til after your shower. people are going to buy you SO MUCH stuff, and you don 't want to have too many clothes or too much of a certain item, and none of the other. if that makes sense. |

I would hold off on the baby clothes for awhile. That 's the #1 gift you 'll get! If you have to buy, buy bigger sizes--3-6 months and higher. You 'll have so many newborn clothes, you won 't know what to do with them. As for other baby stuff, I would start buying little things here and there, but save the receipts. You never know what that long lost great aunt might send! I would start getting stuff that no one really wants to gift--breast pads, diapers, nursing bras, all the not so fun to buy stuff. Of course, I 'm 14 weeks and just bought a baby blanket. Splurge as wanted and needed, lol! |

I started to buy baby stuff at about 3 months pregnant.. I was just so excited, but not the big things only the clothes.. where waiting for the end of June where things go down to almost half price, then we can get everything we need.. I 'm not having a baby shower so we have to get everything on our own.. Congrats and Good luck |

Well you are almost halfway so go to a doctor and get an ultra sound and they might be able to estimate the size and all. and the gender you have to know so if you dont go to baibies are us andt hey have the type of cloth that can be for either gender. also check weekly the babies whieght because it will get bigger and tell anyone who is comeing to the baby shower the size so theycan buy some cloth too.Alsocongrats with the baby |
