Baby Items

Question: What types of new or gently used baby items can be donated?

I have a friend who is pregnant and very poor, with no family support. I want to help by buying some things, and people are giving things to me that they want to donate. I got a box of clothes from a lady today, a guy said he will donate a high chair, and a stroller, and more are giving also. I work at an ambulance corp and they told me to put up a sign asking for gently used donations to be dropped off there. What items can be put on the sign, that I can ask for?

Lots of things can be donated that would end up saving thousands of dollars. For example: Playpens, play yards (the mats with the hanging toys) walkers, jumpers, strollers, diaper pails, clothes (So many people have clothing for kids with the tags still on them!). You can find used cribs, diaper changing stations, mobiles, monitors, slings, car seats (make sure they still pass safety codes). Toys, blankets (make sure to wash them), and shoes are great, even if they have been used. So much of what we throw out after our kids are above the baby stage can be re-used. We just rarely think of those who could use them after us. Good for you, that you are organizing all this for your friend.

Clothes bottles chairs (rocker, high chair) diaper bag DIAPERS (can NEVER have too many) wipes nursing pads sealed formula breast pump blankets car seat crib changing table dresser the last three may sound like BIG things but a lot of people have these sitting in the garage without use!!! she can also go on craigslist or kijiji on her local city to look for freebies!!

Diapers!! No, not used, but that 's a major expense so maybe someone will want to donate a box. Boppy Baby swing Bouncy chair Toys Books Diaper bag Bibs Pack n Play A crib (make sure it 's not to old for safety rules) Baby spoons Bottles Coupons from their paper for diapers and baby stuff.
