Question: What are the top one or two baby items you couldn't live without the first month (or two)?
(Posted by: on 2012-01-30 07:07:46)
I got a limited budget and am struggling between a few different things to purchase now and some maybe a month or two after the baby is born. What are the top one or two... or three items that you couldnt live without? Some examples below... Rocking chair, changing table, bouncer, baby rocker, baby swing, baby travel swing, baby gym, strap on to mommy baby carrying thing...... etc etc |

Besides the basic items like crib, clothes, diapers.....we used the heck out of our swing, play yard and bouncy seat. It was nice to be able to place baby down to free my arms to do things around the house. Edit: The bouncy seat/ play yard was used for travel alot. At home, the swing got the most use. |

Http:/ / attachedtobaby.com/ I LOVED my Slingling to carry my lil guy. You have listed alot of 'wants ' and not really baby 'needs '. I 'd go for the rocker and sling. You don 't need both a 'travel swing ' and a 'house swing ', nor a baby rocker / bouncer. You can find ones that multi-task. |

A baby swing is a must u don 't need at that other stuff they grow so fast like high chair i just used to sit with my daughter on the bed, floor or the counter but a swing is good for taking naps and it keeps them a lil up on there back just in case they sit up they wont choking & a playpen for toys & they can 't go far. changing table is a waste use the bed put a blanket down only take 1 min or 2 to change the baby & a stroller is good not the one that comes with the car seat to bulky won 't make all turns in clothes stores. |

I love our daughters bouncer. It plays music, vibrates, bounces & has a toy bar on it. It 's a nice comfy place to put her when I need to do a bit of housework. Travel system. Handy as you can unlock the carseat from the car, & put it straight into the pram. Or have the pram in different positions. There 's cup holders, pockets, a clock, thermometer, shopping basket... Comes in very handy when going out with my daughter which I do a lot. We bought a Respisense breathing monitor. It wasn 't needed but I panicked too much about SIDS & I couldn 't sleep until we got one. It clips onto the nappy so monitors 24/ 7. Should she stop breathing, it would vibrate to try & wake her up then an alarm would sound. It 's brilliant peace of mind for me 24/ 7. |

The only baby "furniture " type items I used for the first 7 months were a sling and a carseat. I could not live without my sling. |

The bouncer, swing and peanut sling were a must have for me ;) The bouncer helped a lot when I needed 2 shower or cook and would put her straight to sleep. About a month later when she started to not like her bouncer the swing became her favorite to sleep in while I did things around the house and the sling was the best when she started to hate the swing and just want to be carried all the time! |

I think you can do without a playard and a walker. |
