Baby Pants

Question: Why do they not put plastic lining in baby pants anymore ??

When I was a baby (born 1977) - baby clothes had little bloomers/ pants or diaper covers as they called them that were lined with plastic and were cotton on the outside - they were perfect for using cloth diapers. I have my old vintage ones from my baby days that my mom gave me and I want to use them on my daughter but I& #039;m wondering if there was a reason they stopped making them??? Does the plastic irritate their skin??? Or did they just stop making them cause majority of moms stopped using cloth daipers and used disposables and didn& #039;t need the plastic pants anymore??? I & #039;d like to know if anyone knows this- I think maybe they should bring them back into the market - what do you think???

Think landfills. The plastic does not break down for hundreds, sometimes thousands of yrs. Think Green!

You can still get them here in Australia. Try ebay.com.au I 'm sure someone will be selling them. I think they 're called pilchers.

Saw them at babies r us, by gerber.. they are plastic diaper cover..but not lined with cotton. Just put them over the cloth diaper covers..

It 's because the plastic causes the skin to be sweaty and chaffed. Poor little babies cannot tell you when they are uncomfortable. Plastic does not breath. Even disposables breathe somewhat.

You can buy dipaer covers still and then put the baby pants over it.
