Baby Pillow

Question: Im 18 and i still suck my thumb and have a baby pillow when i go to bed, is this wrong and how can i give up?

Yes, it is wrong, it seems as you feel unsafe for some reason. Just don 't suck your thumb, and put the baby pillow in the garage or some where else you can 't get to it as easy.

Why give up ? its your comfort and I 'm sure you do it in private. I have a brother , who is approaching 60 and still sucks his thumb when at home...........He is a Magistrate too !!!!!!!

Dont you worry!!Im 22 and still suck my thumb every now and then and i have some thing called a silky!!Which is just a piece of silk that i have had for years!!And im perfectly normal honestly!!Im sure we will grow out of it one day x

Well i sucked my thumb constantly for years and in time it just stopped. i still suck my thumb when im upset. i think you should stop worring about it and you might find you dont need yout baby pillow and thuimb anymore.

Your 18, its called will power. Just stop. Put a mitten on your hands before going to sleep, put some vinegar on it, that should stop you!!

I tell you what....get this picture in your head. You are with your significant other, dead asleep when he/ she rolls over and sees you with your thumb in your mouth. Not a pretty picture. I, too, sucked my thumb (up until I was 21 or so); it was my security from all the hectic, dysfunctional activities within my family dynamnics. Why do you still do it? I see nothing wrong with the baby pillow, we all have something we take to bed with us, some just graduate to small things. Talk with a counselor about the thumbsucking, though. It could be you are substituting this for comfort you need from loved ones.

I still suck my thumb when feeling emotional or upset about something.... I wish I could stop, but I guess I don 't want to hard enough.

I am 18 and have sucked my thumb since i was 6 years old and still do, i also have a pillowcase aswell that is named comfort i hate it being washed lol, personally i dont see a problem with it i only do it in the comfort of my own home when i am tierd mainly, but if you do in public etc there is a underlying problem, my motto is at the end of the day it keeps you happy "most important thing ever " and does not harm anyone, so why should you think its wrong i have a loveing boyfriend who does not have a problem with it and nobody else around me seems to, i personally say carry on if it keeps you happy x x

I 'm 53 I still suck my fingers in my sleep and I still take my favorite pink teddy bear to bed with me..who says you have to give them up?

I 'm 12 and i don 't suck my thumb but i take a pillow which is silk wrapped. my mom is 40 and she has a pillow with a fluffy material. i don 't see anything wrong. the first answerers which gave stupid answers are definetely as.sholes...don 't mind them, they might even still be doing that! lolz....anywayz, i sugest u DON 'T stop just because.....if you stop u will regret and u will miss that feeling....and about the lover thing who gives a damn? u just tell him and he will understand you...if he is a cool guy he will get you...the thing? don 't stop..it 's just too awesome!
