Question: Baby sleeping on a baby pillow - spinal development?

I have already heard all of the arguments about why a baby should not sleep on a pillow from a respiratory point of view. My baby has been sleeping on a baby pillow since 2 months, and I have had no issues with it. She is now 8 months. I& #039;m wondering if there is any study out there showing the impact (if any) on spinal development? I guess it can be correlated to sleeping on a soft mattress...any studies on that? There haven& #039;t been any good replies to date. Is there any research about spinal development and pillows?

I can 't find anything on the net.. but your baby has already been sleeping on the pillow for 6 months.. this is probably something I would have researched and asked my doctor about before making the decision to put my baby on a pillow. Besides the facts that you have already heard, SIDS risks, respiratory, etc.. I can 't find anything that notes inadequate growth of the spine. I think this is a question for your child 's doctor. I dont think you should have let your baby sleep on a pillow from that young. I have not seen any studies, but I am sure it has done your baby no harm x
