No, there is a suffocation risk in doing this. If you need to elevate her head, then put something under the mattress on the side where you lay her head. |

I have a wedge pillow that I 'm using with my twins who both have a mild cold. It 's more effective in raising their heads and safer than a regular pillow. If you can 't find a wedge pillow, I recommend raising one end of the crib to elevate her head. |

Instead of putting the pillow under her head directly, maybe she can either sleep in a carseat while she has a cold, or you could put the pillow under the crib mattress to elevate it slightly. Pillows are dangerous for babies that small due to suffocation risk. Personally, I 'd either let her sleep in a bouncy seat, a carseat, or a swing until she gets better. |

Definately don 't use a pillow the risk of Sids...or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome are increased. An excellent idea i have tried is putting something under the babies mattress to keep the head end elevated. It works great when babies have a cold. |

It is not recommended due to risk of suffocation. Elevating the bed or mattress never worked for me. I put my daughter in her swing (in my room) when she was having trouble. |

You can use a nice little pillow for your little princess. She suppose to be laying on her back anyway,so that might help her be a little more comfortable. Peace and Blessing |

No. the risk of sids doubles with pillow use. they can turn their head and smother. the other thing that alot of people don 't know, that they just finished studies on, is when you use a pillow directly underneath them, they tend to slide as they sleep-this causes their chin to fall toward their chest which makes it hard to breathe. they are saying that is why 40% of sids related deaths happen in the car seat, swing or carrier. chin-to-chest breathing. if you think about it , it makes sense, if she has a cold, put a firm pillow under her crib mattress and it raises the whole thing. it works, i did this alot. and before you put her down for hte night, sit in the bathroom with the door closed and the shower running on complete hot, then use a nose sucker. that worked for me every time. a car seat is safe, as long as her head isn 't flopping foward, so is a bouncer. sorry i didn 't verify that. |

Exactly like the other girls said.a child doesnt need a pillow for its head to be comfortable. weve used a pillow under all four of our childrens cot mattress when they have had a cold & it does seem to make a some difference. |

No, it 's dangerous. If you want to elevate her head, then put the pillow UNDER the mattress, or prop up the whole head end of the cot on two bricks or similar. |
