Question: When to buy baby shoes/recommendations on shoes?
(Posted by: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? on 2009-10-09 12:56:24)
My son is 10 months old and has been walking for about a month ... recently, he& #039;s started walking in public a bit. I have a pair of shoes (Robeez) for him when he& #039;s out ... but at home he& #039;s barefoot or in socks. I& #039;m assuming he should be wearing shoes out at this point. Correct? Also, does anyone have a recommendation on shoes they like for their baby/ toddler? A Bear& #039;s Mom - they make Keens for kids!!! Awesome ... I had a pair when I was on a field study in Africa ... I walked miles everyday for a few months and they were amazing. |

Stride Rite sells the best baby shoes (in my opinion) |

My daughter now 12 months has to wear them in the one year old room at daycare, otherwise I would only have her wear them when out. So I would just do what you are doing... The stride rite shoes are great and also about $35 to $40 a pair, so I got some shoes for her at target, she is growing so fast, I would rather get some cheaper ones so she can have more and not just 1 or 2 pairs that she will grow out of in a few months. I got a pair of sandals, a pair of soft sided tennis shoes and pair of cute mary jane style shows and baby crocs.I think the easiest ones to walk in are very lightweight soft sided shoes. You want the baby their when you buy them to try them on and make sure they fit right. I have seen moms just buying what they think it right.. They all have different size feet. |

My son 's first shoes were Stride Rite...they are solid, supportive shoes. Being that 's it 's edging on winter (I don 't know where you live though)- if you live where it snows, it 's going to start getting wet on floor in public places- so you definitely want shoes/ boots. See Kai Run are also great shoes- and then my favorites- Keens. They make FABULOUS practical, comfortable sandals, have the cutest loafer tennies. Go to Piperlime.com and check out Keens. You 'll be happy you did. |

I like shooshoos. They are wider than Robeez which was great since DD has wide feet. They are a lot cheaper too. shooshoosusa.com/ products.php?cPath= 51 &osCsid= 4690830123fcddd3a5cfe910663775eb |

He only really needs to wear shoes when the situation requires them (being outside, or at an indoor facility where shoes are necessary). Soft-soled shoes like the ones you 're using are the easiest on foot development. The kind we liked were the Ministar ones from Target. They were budget friendly, and my daughter had each pair of hers until she outgrew them. She can still wear the large ones, but they 're getting tight. |
