Question: When should i buy my baby shoes?
(Posted by: College Girl! ♡ on 2010-01-31 19:40:53)
Can you believe that my baby is 7 months and he doesnt own a pair of shoes? he never had shoes on? is that OK? I feel horrible, but I found them unnecessary, he always have sox on? Should I buy him shoes for when he starts to take steps? I got him then sox with the plastic anti slip bottoms. thanks |

You should start buying shoes and having him wear them that way he can feel support and try to start walking. |

That 's perfectly okay. Young babies aren 't supposed to wear shoes anyway. I had my son in socks until he was walking. I bought my son shoes when he started walking around outside/ in public --- ie: when his feet needed protection. When he took his first steps he wore socks or Robeez. |

Thats perfectly fine. Actually buying shoes when they are that young is a waste they grow out of them so fast and half the time you end up taking them off. I bought a bunch of shoes for my son and he never wore them. I didn 't actually put shoes on him until he started trying to walk. |

Only put shoes on him when you go out. And actually it will be better for him to learn to walk barefoot or with socks simply because their balance is better that way. As for shoes when he 's older, this site makes super cute shoes for baby boys and girls, worth checking out- seekairun.com/ |

They don 't need shoes until they start walking outdoors. Anything before then is a waste of money, albeit cute, but realistically they are not necessary until the feet actually needs support. |

My son has had shoes since three months of age, I purchased his first few pairs mainly because it was winter and the baby socks just didn 't look warm enough! Now that it 's summer the only reason I put them on him is if we are going out and they make his outfit look 'finished '. At home I don 't put any foot wear on him as he is learning to walk and with our slippery wood floors it is better for him to be barefoot. never mind the fact I practice elimination communication because it is just plain easier than trying to tie him down to put a nappy on him! And when you do that putting socks on them is plain silly because if there is an 'accident ' you have to catch the little bugger to remove and replace them! |
