Question: Tips on buying baby shoes?

My daughter is walking now and she is coming up to 12 months, I am having a nightmare getting shoes for her, I dont have much money so looked on ebay and bought a few pairs but they are useless, one is not suitable for walking babies, and one she can& #039;t get her foot in as the back is so high. I bought her trainers in the shop earlier but even they seem like they only just fit (size 3), tho& #039; the next size up looked far too big. Any tips on where to get cheaper good quality soft soled shoes would be appreciated!

She really does need to have her feet measured properly and shoes fitted professionally. The bones in her feet are tiny and still soft, and they will easily deform in shoes that are not a proper fit. Even socks that are too tight can cause this to happen, so it is essential that you have her shoes fitted properly. I would urge you to save up and go to a reputable shop where the staff are trained to fit children 's shoes, even if it means she has to go without walking outdoors for a few months whilst you save up. Save a few pounds now and you could set her up with painful problems for life.

The best ting would be to have her feet professionally measured. most shops that specialize in kids shoes will have cheaper options to the brandnames you just have to tell the assistant what your spending limit is. anyway, isn 't it better to pay 30 or 40 for a pair of shoes that fit her than to keep buying her shoes that don 't and end up paying the same if it 's all added together.

I had the same problem with my son, he just turned 12 months and i took him for his first shoe fitting, they measured his foot and his width, he 's a 3 1/ 2 g which is quite a wide fitting, which will explain why all the otheer shoes don 't fit him, te shoes i chose were a lovely funky canvas pair which were only 13 pounds, they fit him perfectly and he can walk fine in them, i got these from Charles Clinkard.

You should take her to clarks to get her feet measured properly and buy her first shoes from there, i got my daughters first walking shoes from there for £15 on offer from 25 they light up when she walks. since those ones ive just bought her a pair of trainers the next size up which fit her nicely. but you do need to get her feet measured to be accurate as its not good for them to wear shoes which dont fit or arent comfortable as their bones are still soft and will mould into that shape. if clarkes is too pricey have a look for the particular ones on ebay rather than random shoes. good luck.

May be you can try to buy from uusell.com ,i saw so many new style chilren boots on the website when i did the online shopping as usual ,i always buy from there and find that the quality is ok and the price is the cheaper than any other places.

Ok here is a tip. I know kids shoes can be expensive, since it seems they go through a few sizes in a months. But when she is just starting out walking, she really needs good foot support. That is the only time you want to splurge and get her a shoe that can aid in her balance and coordination. I would recommend that you take her to Stride Rite for her first pair of walking shoes. Stride Rite can be found at their own stores in malls or outlets, or they are also sold in Nordstrom 's. They will measure her foot and have lots of different styles that range from $25 up to $45. She really needs a good solid shoe to start her off. High ankle support is actually a good thing for beginning walkers. The salespeople will have lots of recommendations for you, but I think we used a white shoe at first called "Jamie " (there is a link to it below). Once she is a walking "pro ", you can go to pretty much anyplace for shoes. I just got my son a pair at our local Target for about $17, but he is almost two. There were styles cheaper than that as well. Good luck!

Even if you can 't afford to buy from a high street store, you should go to one to get her feet measured properly. There is no obligation to buy if they measure your child 's feet! Then at least you will know what size she is. I would agree, however, that this is one area where you really do need to spend money on getting good quality shoes. And you should never buy second hand shoes as they are already moulded to another child 's feet.
