Apart from "don 't bother, baby will just kick them off anyway "? Just make sure they are not too tight - baby 's feet are extremely delicate.

I agree with the previous poster, they are a waste when your baby is a newborn. Go with footed pjs if it is cool. When they are a bit older, my tip is to make sure they fit good and buy all white ones of the same brand and style . . . that way when you lose one, it will go with all the other white socks you have. That is what we do for our 1 year old twins! LOL! ETA - To Cindy - I stated that we used footed pjs instead. For the first few months, my twins lived in footed pajamas. They were warm and I was not chasing socks around everytime they fell off.

The best baby footwear for an infant up until its ' first birthday should be wool socks or booties. Infant socks should be large enough so they don 't restrict the feet. Infants cannot regulate their body temperatures so their wool socks can make sure they stay warm enough all day. Infants usually only wear booties for the first few weeks, once you decide to change them into socks, try to Make special care that the socks fit properly; they shouldn 't be too tight... it can harm those little feet! Socks should be an inch longer than your babies ' toes. Most parents are concerned when buying socks for their little infants. You should try to get organic pure cotton socks. Organic pima cotton socks will help keep your babies ' feet warm and cozy. Organic cotton helps to ensure that no chemicals come into contact with babies ' skin, as it 's a natural fiber. Caring for organic socks is simple and easy; you just need to wash them in a gentle detergent. You can get organic socks in any specialty organic shop or online.

We loved the newborn baby socks from baby gag because they didn 't fall off. Gymboree and The Chidren 's Place has nice socks too. Best advice is buy all the same color "white " so you don 't ever have to match. We throw out more mismatched socks than you could imagine we 've got four kids and I still don 't know where the missing socks go!!!!

Obviously if the weather is cold, you need them. Don 't know why people would say not to bother with socks? What you gonna do, let them get cold feet??? I find the "BONDS " brand of socks never come off. They are tight but not too tight and usually all of them have the spots on the bottom of them to make them grip and not make them slip over when walking or crawling.

I agree with Cindy - the bonds brand is best for keeping socks on feet :) use socks on newborns as both socks and mittens. my son has never kicked or pulled off his socks, he 's 11mths now and we use the bonds socks. a good idea when baby is crawling is to turn the sock around so the grip-dots are on the top of his feet making crawling easier :)

Wow yes socks are very important especially in side if the air is on thier little newborn feet get clammy, cold, & sweaty from the coldness. My son had to have socks on his hands & feet, the mittens for hands didnt stay on but the sicks did. I would look for ones that arent too snug at the ankles especially for when babys bigger.. I just bought some at walmart not sure of the brand... but socks have never fell off my sons if so then they are just too big.
