They actually DON "T recommend them anymore, as kids with parents not paying attention have ended up falling down stairs and such. They 're actually illegal in Canada. I used one with my daughter from about 5 months to nearly a year. She adored it. The house was baby proofed and she was always supervised when in it. The make walkers without wheels. Exosaucers I believe. They may be an option if wheels make you nervous. |

They aren 't recommended at all. When I looked for one for Matty (now 3.5) you couldn 't even buy them! |

The actual walkers with wheels are always discouraged. You can use a bouncer or exersaucer until the baby learns to crawl or scoot. Once they can move, you should stop using these devices to encourage motor development. |

In Canada where I live they are banned. I had to go to the states and get one and my son used it for a few months until he was about 9 months or so. Now at 10, nearly 11 months he has no interest in it because he is nearly walking on his own. I know they say a walker can inhibit walking but in our son 's case, it seems he will walk sooner then my daughter who never used a walker. |

I stopped my kids around 1 yr. You don 't want to keep them in it so much that it hinders them crawling. I actually stopped using the walker with my youngest at about 8 months because she started hating it (she wanted to crawl after her sister on the floor and the walker restricted her movements). Good luck! |

Not recommended at all as dangerous and they say they slow down development of walking and crawling. Having said that my son loved his and is walking at 11 mths?? The danger side i do kinda agree on though but i always supervised him |

Up until they can walk by them self I thought my son had one and when he started trying to walk at 12 months we stopped putting him in it as much, My daughter who is 6 months the now has 1 and I 'll probably just be the same with her. |

My son had one shaped like a jeep, he loved it. They are not recommended for parents who do not watch their children well enough esp. stairs/ drop offs. I started sitting him in it at 4 months old. He loved to play with the steering wheel, of course he couldn 't go anywhere and continued to use it until he walked (10 months) I took the seat out of it so he can climb through the bottom and stand and at 18 months old he still plays with it. |

I only use a baby walker for my daughter when I 'm washing up, otherwise she 's be up to all sorts of mischief! I don 't use it at any other time so as to allow her to roam around the house and explore. I would stop using them once they can walk on their own. |

NEVER, they delay acquisition of new skills and put your infant in danger, avoid at all cost. |
