Question: Do you think baby walkers and baby jumping bouncers distract the normal leg development?
(Posted by: ILoveJesus on 2009-11-19 08:25:54)
As something is holding them up so superficially giving them the feeling of walking isn& #039;t this cheating up to an extent and doesn& #039;t allow the body to develop properly. |

No, not at all. They 're a great idea to help develop muscles and walking. |

Rubbish, our daughter used both when she was little, believe me, her body is proper developed, as long as the child is not using it all day, you 've no problem whatsoever. |

If it 's the "sit-n-skim " kind of walker, they 're crap. the kind that looks like a little train or car or whatever and just has a handle to help the child balance, those are great. bouncers are awesome. my youngest would spend literally hours a day in hers just happily boinging away. her leg strength is phenomenal but whether or not it contributed to her starting to walk at 9-1/ 2mo, i wouldn 't say that. |

Ryan LOVED his jumper, he did not have a walker. He walked at 11 months old! |

My son who is 5 now loved his walker and bouncer and he is just fine at walking and is a great little runner.. my daughter 6 months loves her walker and loves her bouncer as well but shes nearly finished in her bouncer now.. As a mother I would be lost without these 2 baby things.. They are fine otherwise they would not be allowed to sell in the market. |

My daughter loved her "Jump-a-roo " and got excited every time I put her in it! The doc just said to not leave her in it for long periods of time because it could develop her leg muscles too quickly (she jumped a LOT). He is now almost 2 1/ 2 and runs like a champ! :) I think it is a great way for kids to use their energy that don 't know how to walk yet. I am So glad we used it and will use it with our second child!! |

I was told that walkers make your child bull legged but don 't think that is exactly true |

I had my two boys in the walkers when they were a baby and they had no problems. Also the had the jumping bouncers. They walked fine. I am getting my baby a walker and she has a jmuping bouncer thing. |

What it does is give your baby the strength to hold themselves up and helps with balance when they are standing because it keeps them from falling over i believe these are 2 essential baby items as long as they are used properly. for instance do not use a walker and the 2nd floor of a house (they can flal downstairs) and dont use doorway jumpers (it could come down and hurt your baby) |

No it doesn 't, babies will walk when they are ready it doesn 't make any difference. |
