Hi, I had a walker for my son and started putting him in the walker around 5 months. He could crawl at this stage, but could not sit unassisted yet. He never did like it at all. They are very heavy to move and I think he felt a little limited as far as what he could do. He did have a push along walker (one the stand behind), that he can ride later on, and he liked that. I ended up mainly using the walker when I vacuumed so he wouldn't go after it, lol. Anyway, I wouldn't put him in it until he can sit well with assistance. :)

I wouldn't use a walker, they can hinder a childs walking development. And if your not careful they can be really dangerous. It's better if you buy them a push toy or exersaucer.

I put my son in his walker at about five months too. He's almost ten months now, and still uses and loves it! Sometimes he'll even hold onto it (not sitting in it) and push it around! Mine is a safety first, and I don't find it bulky or heavy (It weighs about 5-10 lbs) and folds down flat.

Ive always put mine in a baby walker from around 4 months, if they arent quite strong enough with their backs id roll a blanket up and put it infront of them! they loved bein in them playing with the toys and being able to see everything around! they never actually moved around in it but they enjoyed playing in them! they were out of them quite early though, since they walked at 9 months. glad i put them in them early lol not so much of a waste of money! mum to 3.5yrold, 2.5yrold & 5 month old

Don't use a walker - see link below. They are even illegal in Canada!
