Question: A baby walker, good or bad for baby?
(Posted by: michael's wifey on 2011-12-01 16:19:18)
I& #039;m thinking about getting a walker for my daughter. she is 5 months. i want to get her on for christmas which she will be 6 months by christmas. i heard that walkers are bad for the baby because, it makes the legs bone legged, and that it teaches her to walk on her toes and not her feet, has anyone have any advice about the walkers? or experience with baby walkers? let me know please! |

My little man had one and had no problems walking...he was 11 months when he first started walking and has never had any problems...he loved his little walker, mainly cos it had toys and noises attached and on carpet it doesnt really 'walk ' when he was out side he would mainly just push around in it..i loved it..if there was risk of health problems they would take it off the market..well thats how it works here in Australia |

Just don 't leave her in it for prolonged amounts of time, just use it for a bit of fun for her here and there. Ensure she 's supervised at all times, never use it at the top of stairs, and make sure she won 't be able to pull anything down on herself or pick up anything dangerous. |

I 've heard not to use them because of the risk of them tipping over. I don 't think it happens too often, but it could happen. |

My son had one from an eaarly age and he walks really well... if you get one make sure you buy one with bumpers underneath so it cant tip over and do not let baby in it near stairs x |

I bought one for my son and he loved it, he started taking steps on his own at 11 months |
