Question: What baby wrap is best?
(Posted by: mommy2J on 2009-03-08 23:32:43)
I already have a maya wrap and an ergo from my first baby. however, I recently saw someone using a wrap and I am very interested in using one for my second baby. My question is, what brand of wrap is better? I& #039;ve seen the Moby wrap, the Sleepy wrap, and a few more. They are all about the same price so I& #039;m not worried about that. Anyone have any experience with wraps and which one would you reccomend? |

I have the Moby and love it. It is stretchy, yet supportive. If you are planning on carrying a larger baby in it (like over 20 pounds or so) you may want to look at a woven, non-stretchy wrap such as a Storchenwiege. Those are expensive (~$100), but I lucked up and got one on sale for $52. Anyway, if you want it for a baby and not so much a toddler, I think you 'll like the Moby. It 's snuggly, and they come in the most beautiful colors. I didn 't have it for my daughter when she was a newborn (we got it when she was almost a year old), but now I 'm pregnant again and can 't wait to use it to soothe and cuddle my new baby. |

I bought a Moby D wrap and really struggled with it *but* I am sure I would have loved it as a regular Moby wrap. I 'm really short and kind of thick, so having the doubled wrap wraped around my body was just too much. The regular wraps, though, don 't have such thick fabric and sit better, so I 'm sure I would have really enjoyed it. Since all wraps are designed pretty much the same, maybe you can look for ones that have extras you like. Some have the "center " part slightly off center so you can tie it on your side rather than back (to make it easier to sit down), and some don 't even have a "center " at all and you can adjust it however you 'd like. Some have tapered ends so you can more easily tie it, and others don 't. Some make longer wraps than others, and you may want one that is longer or shorter than the standard 5 yards (If you 're really thin and short you may not want such a long wrap, but if you 're tall or chunky you may want the extra). |

I bought a moby wrap and i love it, but after a while of my little boy throwing up on it all the time i made my own. i was able to make them exactly as long as i needed and i have them in different colours to match what im wearing lol. now i have heaps for a fraction of the cost! |
