Which baby wrap/carrier do you recommend?

Question: Which baby wrap/carrier do you recommend?

I am interested in buying a wrap or some type of carrier so that I can wear the baby. What did you use and how did you like it?

When our son was younger we used a Moby wrap. It's great! It holds you child in the correct position and doesn't put pressure on their spine like some carriers that dangle a baby from their crotch (eg a lot of Baby Bjorns do this). It distributes weight over the shoulders evenly and pulls your baby's weight into you so your back doesn't ache. It does take some practice to get the wrapping right but once you do it takes a minute to put on. Once our son was older I bought an Ergo. It is great as well. Again it pulls your baby's weight into you and stops you from slouching and getting sore shoulders. It holds your baby in the correct position for spinal development and is easy to put on.

If you are going to breastfeed, buy a sling so you can nurse while wearing baby. If not, a Moby is nice and comfy once you figure out how to get it on

What?? Wear in the baby?? Are you one hundred per cent touched? Why would anybody wear in the baby nowadays?

Do not buy a sling, they are not recommended at all and can suffocate baby. I bought a Eddie Bauer carrier and it works great. The weight limit is 8-24 pounds and has a billion different settings and adjustments, including one for breastfeeding. I do not know the exact name of the carrier because I bought it from a consignment store, sorry!

Moby wrap for the first 2 months or so then an over the shoulder carrier once the baby is too heavy for the moby. I wore my baby all the time at home and outside for months and we both loved it, congrats!

I have tried several. THe moby wrap is by far my favorite. It doenst hurt my back at all. Its actually really easy to get on. Just look up moby wrap on youtube and it shows you how to use it. I hated it at first but after a few tries I never use anything else. It also goes up to 35 pounds. My 2 year old is 27 pounds and I wrapped her in it once to test it out..she hated it but it still held her. There is also a way to use it to nurse as well. The only downside to the moby is it gets pretty hot wearing it in warm weather. I live in texas and I get sorta sweaty when I wear it outside when its hot.

I had a Didymos wrap and loved it. It takes a bit of practice to learn to tie wraps, but once you get the hang of it, they're not difficult to use. They hold the baby securely, are comfortable for long-wearing, and are great for breastfeeding. Woven wraps are best for older babies & toddlers (I carried my daughter, at least occasionally, through preschool), so consider the stretchiness of the fabric if you think you might use it beyond early infancy. The only thing I've used is a Baby Bjorn carrier. I love it. We use it for walks mostly.
