Taking Glucophage for weight loss?
I 'm very overweight (obese would be the technical term). I 'm 5 '4 " and 194 lbs and I 'm 22... this is the heaviest I have ever been (the most I ever weighed before this was 152 lbs... my normal weight is 110-125lbs) I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid earlier this year, but that has since been corrected with Synthroid. My doctor prescribed me Glucophage a couple of days ago to help me get a head start, since the extra weight I am carrying is making exercise more difficult and raising my heart rate (resting heart rate is in the mid to upper 90 's and I can top out at 183 when at a slight jog). I was wondering what kind of side effects I can expect, how long it will take to work, and any other tips regarding the medication would be helpful. P.S.Also, I have been watching what I eat, exercising 3x a week as of right now (it would be more often if not for my heart rate), calories have been cut, and I am eating healthy foods (fast food has been cut out completely, and carry-out has been 95% eliminated). This has been prescribed ONLY for a short period to give me a kick-start on my weight loss before I have any serious complications from the weight. So please, no comments regarding laziness bc I am choosing to take these at the recommendation of my physician... I am taking an active role in getting my weight down, and I value my long-term health and would rather deal with a few tolerable side-effects for a couple of months if it helps me get to the point that I can simply watch what I eat and exercise without difficulty. I 'm not trying to take an easy out. Thanks!

Constant weight loss through medication?
Hi guys!I 've been on Lisinopril for 5 months now. It helps to keep my blood pressure stabilized. During these last months I went from 230 to 194lbs. And it doesn 't seem to stop. I don 't have any pain. Bowel movement and stool are normal. I changed my diet a little bit since my visit to my cardiologist, but nothing radical. Less soft drinks and deep fried stuff.Has anybody out there experienced weight loss due to Lisinopril?Many thanks for your thoughts.

I reached a plateau in my weight loss journey?
i have a lost about 30 pds so far and have to lose only 10 more pds but have reached a plateau in my weight loss regiment. i was told that i have to increase my calorie intake to lose those pounds because my metabolism is slowing down. is this true?

Hi I am a 13 year old girl turning 14 on September 7th. According to my B.M.I I am obese. I am looking to lose weight not only for medical purposes but for happiness. Before I continue with my story I want to say that no matter what pleae dont say, its not about being in or looking good in a bikini because that is my choice. I need weight loss because I am insecure and unhealthy. I am about 195 pounds and am 5 foot 5 inches. According to doctors my healthy weight is between 120-130 pounds. I am looking for a way to lose all of that weight by the beggining of next June. Any tips would be wonderful. breakfast - branflakes with skimmed milk- 150 cals kiwi-20 cals boiled egg- 90 cals wholemeal toast- 125Lunch- couscous iwth chopped tomato and pepper- 270Dinner- salmon with brocoli and carrots- 350 calsDessert- fat free jelly with fruit sorbet sorbet- 120Total- 1125 caloriesi also spent 4 hours walking because i went shopping :)will i lose weight if i continue to eat similarly to this?

i 'll share my tip for cutting calories: instead of eating chips, bake tortilla bread (2 pieces is 120 calories) and dip in salsa, which is usually about 10 calories or so. all you do is cut the bread (i usually do triangles) and bake for 10 mins on 350i munch on that, only the 2 pieces. it 's nice snack or even lunch when you add black beans to fill you upand if i 'm REALLLLY craving something, i take a tiny piece and throw the rest away. i know it 's wasteful, but it works to curb the cravingsany other tips!?i 've lost 7lbs in 2 months.i 'm sure i 'd lose more if i exercised

Hello, im 16 years old, i need to lose 30 pounds of fat, and gain muscle to tone my body. I lost 50 pounds before unhealthily and and loss a lot of muscle so im going to lose the 30 pounds right this time. I just joined a gym a few days ago and school started. The gym is right down the street from the school. I started yesterday going to the gym; doing 60 minutes of cardio and weight training. Such as today i did 30 minutes on the elliptical then weight training for about 10 minutes maybe then 30 minutes on the bike. Yesterday i did not have enough energy to do as much and today i felt great. the difference is i ate a protein bar about a half hr or 40 minutes before i was at the gym. Is that healthy to eat protein bars if im trying to lose weight? it had a lot of sugar and some carbs. I think that 's how i got the energy to work out. am i still benefiting from doing that? will the sugar just be used as energy and i will lose weight? or the exercise i did was for the protein bar i ate? it was a big 100 bar. i usually eat cliff builders bars though, they say its all natural. is that okay if i start eating them before the gym?i really need a good answer to this, i didnt want to lose weight the wrong way again! Abnormal weight loss?
Okay so i 'm 4ft 11 inches and i usually weight about 8 stone 7 give or take, I weighed myself yesterday and i weighed 8 stone 1 pound today i weigh 7 stone 8, is this abnormal? I 've been going to the gym quite a bit in the last five weeks but i haven 't gone lately due to a sore throat and bad knee.
Help with Paxil weight loss?
I was on Paxil for about 9 months for an anxeity disorder. While on Paxil, I gained a little over 60 pounds. I 'm not taking the drug anymore, but I 'm worried I wont be able to lose the weight. I 'm so uncomfortable with myself... None of my clothes fit, I have stretch marks, I can 't even stand to leave my house I 'm so embarrassed. I don 't eat much to begin with, and I guess I eat kinda half and half. Not so healthy, but at the same time I get my fruits and veggies. I probably don 't drink enough water, but I try. But anyways, if anyone 's dealt with this and lost weight or have any ideas..let me know? ThanksI should also say that when school starts up in a few days, I 'll be in a gym class. FAST weight loss help?
Looking for a FAST FAST way to lose weight. Like ALOT of weight. Working out everyday and limiting my diet isn 't working. I have Type 1 Diabetes and have Celka disease PLEASE HELPI also have PCOS which makes it almost impossible to lose weight. I have a very restricted diet because of my celiac. And I work out a minimun of 3 hours a day, and that doesnt include my swim team practice. I am a USS national swimmer and 20 yrs old.I have also worked with nutritionists for over 2 years. I dont drink juice or soda, only water, also no breads.Please note I am already on a very low calorie count as I am already on very restricted diets.

When school starts i plan on sleeping around 8-9 o 'clock every night. ( Im going to have to teach my body to fall asleep by that time) Then waking up in the morning at 5:30, go for a morning jog 40 mins to an hour. Take a shower, then eat breakfast. ( Oatmeal with fruit, tofu with veggies, sardines w/ broccoli etc. ) Start walking to school at 7am, it is approximately 40 minutes. After school walk to the gym ( approximately 29 minutes ) , exercise for 1-2 hours.Then walk home again ( 30 minutes )Sleep by 8:30pm or 9pmI am 175 '5180 lbs
How can I become more physically fit? Preferably weight loss.?
Well I 'm 13. I 'm in taekwondo, and I live in a really hot place. I 'm 5 '4 ", and weigh 135 pounds.My family 's treadmill isn 't working, I 'm not allowed to get a gym membership for another year, when I 'm 14. I have dumb bells, and ankle weights. I can 't really change my diet, but I can cut down on my unnecessary foods to the point where I 'm not "starving " myself, and putting the food I eat into fat. I do about an hour of taekwondo every day except Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And that 's really all the vigorous activity I do the whole week. I have a heavy bag outside for kicks and stuff. I 'm not allowed outside to go running, because I might get a heat stroke. I can 't go in the evening either because that 's when I 'm at my Taekwondo class.What I want to do is burn fat, while gaining muscle mass.

I have been on a L-Carnitine regiment for the past month now and only have seen a loss of 6 lbs over that period of time, it might be because of high stress levels due to my recent move to a new area but anyways im not seeing the results im supposed to as i was told i would, im 219, im 21 and im 5 '11 ". my aim is to get back down to 180. I walk every day about 2 miles or so and ive been eating less. only til recently i was suggested to actually stopping snaking all together and only eat 3 times a day and to go mostly vegetarian in my diet. its worked for my best bud who lost 30 lbs in 2 months. any suggestions or input on what im currently doing or told to consider?
