Your best bet is to lift heavy. Lift as much weight as you can to complete a 12-10-8-8 rep cycle. If it feels like you can do more reps, add more weight. You want to build muscle. This will help with the fat loss. Also check your diet. Lifting alone won 't fix the problem.

The best/ easiest way to lose weight is to do cardio and HIIT and modify your diet. Technically, muscle does burn more calories than fat. And the ideal rep range for building muscle is 6-12 reps. But in reality the difference is very small and you 're likely to lose more weight by eating one less apple each day. Unless you 're extremely buff, anyway. Otherwise it 's more about duration and getting your heart rate up than sets/ reps. Same principle as cardio.
